I can't decide - both are wonderful. The revisited version, with white majestic clouds and vivid (HDR?) colours, looks like a photorealistic painting. The other version is more like a real photo, but both are of highest quality. Relegating one of them to scraps seems harsh.
I prefer this one. Obviously everything is a matter of taste but I like how this one is sharper than the first although the grass in the foreground catches my eye since it is a bit bright and looks more "processed" than the rest of the image but this could just be that there is so much detail in the grass as opposed to the smooth water surrounding it. Still a fave though because it is really beautiful!
Thank you so much On a editing point of view this is much lighter edited, but it's more or less mandatory to edit images today. The reason why I say this is that it's my job as a photographer to make you feel something when you have a look at a my images, if I can make you feel something then I've done a good job, if I can make you feel what I wanted you to feel, then I've done a fantastic job Makes sense?
I think I prefer the first one, mainly for two reasons :
- the framing. I can see you cropped the image, and in my opinion, it changes the subject. On your second version, the eye is automatically drawn to the horizon line, the joint between sky / water / mountains, while the first version seems to focus a little more on the bank and the pebbles, leaving the mountains to the foreground.
- the colours. It's just a matter of taste, really. I think your second version looks too saturated and heavy, the first one giving a more breathy atmosphere.
I understand what you are saying. Personally I prefer the new version due to the fact that it's sharper. I haven't made the last adjustment. I'm going to make the bottom half a bit colder as it's too warm right now. I think it'll bring a better breathing room within the image
It's much better then the version before. For me there are to much yellow tones in the shot and when I look at the first one I think the green is more in the foreground then the yellow color. But at all, lovely scene and shot now
